Toronto's hyper-conservative Mayor Rob Ford says, "I don't

remember" 89 times during deposition on conflict of interest charges. He's the second extreme conservative to run afoul of the conflict of interest rules in recent years. These 2 instances are the only ones which have occurred in the 26 years we have lived in Toronto.

He claimed he "had no knowledge of a handbook city staff gave him and other council members that explains conflicts."

What is it about Ethical behaviour and conservatism that puts the two forever at odds?

Rob

I didn't indulge in conflict of interest he did. I didn't

abuse my office, Senator Tom Delay did, I didn't play games with a series of pages Larry Craig and Mark Foley did.

Scooter Libby (jailed in lieu of **** Cheney)
John Ensign Asked his in-laws to pay off his mistress. can you say, He has not merely no ethics but no class either. I'd love to have heard that conversation. "Uhhh, Dad, I've kind of got this problem ... ."
Jack Abramoff. Long time Republican operative and fixer, later a lobbyist
Randy Duke Cunningham (though it pains me to record his name) bribery and corruption.
The whole C Street Mob of philanderers adulterers, mistress keepers and who knows what else.

I can hardly wait until they figure out all that George Bush National Guard stuff was typed on a 1969 IBM Selectric typewriter, which offers the fonts and the other things referred to when Republicans shouted down the authenticity of the documents.

And maybe we'll get a chance to see Mitt Romney's secret returns on Sept 29th, earlier if he caves.
