Question

Topfield & Samsung series 7 uhd tv

Aug 9, 2016 3:21AM PDT

Purchased the Samsung KU7500 UHD tv, connected Foxtel to HDMI 2, Topfield PVR to HDMI 3. While watching Foxtel, the Topfield turned on for a arranged recording & in doing so changed the Samsung TV HDMI input to HDMI 3. I decided to trial things by watching Foxtel on HDMI 2 & turning top field on manually. Again it switched HDMI inputs to the Topfield. How can I stop this, it only happens when the Topfield turns on?

Answer
Always call those bugs in.

Otherwise Samsung won't know it's a bug to be fixed.

Is it my set up?

Yes R. Proffitt, I did call it in yesterday. I spent 40mins on the phone reseting the tv & updating the tv without any luck. I wondered if it was my set up or if Topfield settings caused this, but cannot find anything in the Topfield menus. As it stands, my ariel comes from the wall into Topfield, out of Topfield to TV. Topfield is connected to tv via HDMI input 3. Foxtel seperate to HDMI input 2.

Nope. Why?

Because the TV is changing and apparently there is no settings to make it stop.

That's a defective product. Make it simple. Tell them to fix or it goes back as defective.

It only changes when Topfield is turned on

The tv doesn't continue to swap inputs, it only swaps when I turn Topfield on. I'm curious as to why the other HDMI connected appliances don't do the same. Samsung have been good so far in their support, will try them again soon. I still can't get use to the quality of the picture either, it's been a huge change for me. Not convinced its great for sport, but if I take this one back it will be my 2nd return in 1 week.

Since it's the TV that changed

That's where the issue is. It's like a car that changes gear because you turned on the radio. Call it a defect and they fix or refund.

And yes you returned the other one.

I missed what model that was but this time, you have the maker dead to rights about a defect.

If it's some setting, and they maker and seller didn't tell you, still a defect in support.
