Best Review I Ever Read on American Iron
Mar 11, 2008 7:01AM PDT

The best review I've read on American Trucks and SUV's (coming out of the 70' and 80's) was that they wasted a lot of space. They were bigger than they needed to be for what they did.

Not so long ago I test drove a Hummer H2. While it handled better than I expected I was utterly dissapointed in how large the thing was for how much room I had. I flat out could not sit in the one with a sunroof. There wasn't enough headroom. Meanwhile I can sit in my Corolla just fine. Given that the H2 wasn't more useful space wise than a 93 S10 Blazer...I can see why other countries are not big on our trucks.

Now we have smalle SUVs along with the big ones. Now the problem is that the Cute Ute's don't actually do much more than a station wagon...The small ones are not good 4x4s.

Wow, Old Episode
Mar 11, 2008 7:53AM PDT

Wow, that is a really old episode if you keep up with the show. The one major reason that Clarkson found fault with the F-150 is because the idiots at Ford gave him a Ford Lightning. The Ford Lightning does not come with 4x4! One of the big reasons he thought it was useless was because it was so big, but you couldn't even take it off-road cause it wasn't a 4x4, yet the most popular F-150 is a 4x4. Chalk it up to Ford thinking out of their asses rather than their heads.
