took the plunge for the sony vgn-aw125j/h

Just ordered it. 1st laptop for me. I'm sure i'll be back with many
questions. I here setting up the wireless security is not real easy.
I have to go buy a cable modem and wireless router to be used with
cox cable. Any suggestions on these items would be much appreciated.
Will be used in a small 2 level condo so nothing great is needed. TIA

I dug around the Cox site for a few minutes and they seem to have easy to understand tutorials on everything you will need to do to set up your network. And of course... Cnet is a great place as well

I've kind of decided on the sbg900 wireless modem/router. I may
have them (cox) hook it for me. I always have trouble with them
just installing cable boxes. Some channels not coming in, etc.
Reading reviews seems that set up is a little difficult so
i may save myself some pain and have them do it.

update - self install went smooth

Called cox up to walk me through modem set-up and than called
belkin to walk me through wireless router set-up. No problems.
With the money i saved i bought a wireless mouse logitech 450 nano.
The touchpad seemed to be limiting me. Have other things to figure
out like battery life and setting up outlook. Using webmail from
cox right now. Many things to figure out before it becomes a toy.
