Question

Too Much Tech and not enough outputs

Jul 8, 2018 12:13AM PDT

Morning all.
I have an LG TV with 2 HDMI ports and wait for it, a Scart. TV was top of the range flat energy when it was produced, circa 2010-2011.
I run the following and would like all to work.
-Sony BluRay 5.1 system
- TV itself
- PS4
-EE TV (satellite TV)
I have now found a retro N64 so want to use that.

Currently I have a splitter running off one of the HDMI ports which allows me to use 3 devices. However - the issue I have is I cannot listen to normal TV or play PS4 through the Blu Ray - only when watching blurays is this automated.

Its infuriating
Thoughts and considerations... I am all ears for a soution.

Answer
This is where a RECEIVER is used.

This is sometimes dismissed by those that have those "BluRay 5.1 system"s so you will get push back but today's setups are to arrange all your inputs to go to a receiver with enough inputs to switch and handle the audio work and then pass the video onto the HDTV.
