It looks to me that you have described a great camera to own, but one that does not exist.
For a little under $1,000 you can get such a camera.
It would be a Canon Rebel 300D (SLR) with the 50mm F1.8 lens.
Let's wait and see if someone can come up with a less expensive solution.
Anyone???????

Help...
I am looking for some advise on getting a digital camera. I have used my aunts Sony Cybershot Maveric(sp?) it takes the mini cd's and I think it is a 3 or 4 mega pixel -- But I do not like it. Outdoor pic come out nice but indoor or school pictures I have taken (and her) haven't come out crisp.
I would mostly be picture of my kids (at school fucntion, amusement park, vacations, theater events for girl scouts, and indoor - probaly indoor the most and our lighting is poor in the house) And I would take picture of friends birthday parties etc that would be in a restuartant or bar setting.
1. Takes good low/poor light pictures
2. Fast Shutter
3. NOT grainy pictures - I would like sharp, clear pics
4. Be able to print 8x10's from shutterfly
5. At least 4 mega pixels (probaly 5+ would be better)
As far as price - cheaper the better...but I would say no more then $400 - $500. I prefer the $300 range. However, if there is an camera that would have everything I'm looking for and be a little more I would consider that too.
ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!!
