Counting Likes from threads started 10 years ago.

I'd gave you a Like in your OP in this thread but I don't see THAT option.

Respond to this post and I'll give you an atta boy.

You can give me one if you want, that'll be 2 likes in a thread with 3 posts. That might be some sort of record.

I've never figured out what that was all about

Thumbs up or down, that is. What purpose does it server for the anyone and why do people seem to put so much importance in them. Silly waste of time to me...

This particular thread was locked....not sure if that affected the ability to 'like' or 'dislike'.

I'm just grateful to all the 'old timers' who knew so much more than me when I started and mentored me. My favorite saying was 'talk to me like I'm a three-year-old' and they did. LOL I was a massive sponge that soaked up every bit of knowledge those people were willing to share with me....and I think it helped to have the ability to laugh at myself and share that with new 'newbies'. Too many times, people were too afraid to ask questions for fear of being told they were so stupid or afraid they would be laughed at. I think I asked the questions they couldn't bring themselves to ask and, in turn, by reading those replies from the experts, they got what they needed, too.

Those were really great times for me and are sorely missed. So many friends, so many gone now.....their generosity, not only with their knowledge and experience being shared, but even with sending me parts from computers they would update so I could keep building computers to give to kids in my area schools who wouldn't have had a computer at all if it wasn't for them.
