Tom's spam song during listener's voicemail...

Jun 12, 2006 8:14PM PDT

anyone else catch this? During the voicemail about the spam recipe's, turn up the volume and you can hear Tom sing a little spam song. (sounds more like humming the tune to superman but instead of hum's he uses the word spam)

anyways, thought that was cool

LOLOLOL! This was so funny!

Imagine the scene: it's a sunny morning in my rural upstate NY neighborhood, and I'm taking my morning walk and listening to Buzz Out Loud. I think I got the idea the split second before Tom chimed in with the "spam" song, or maybe I heard it and didn't realize it (it was definitely in my head befor I was conscious of hearing it), but then when I heard Tom saying (singing?) it, I just kept laughing and laughing, and the list of spam recipes went on and on and I kept laughing and laughing. I must have looked very crazy to anyone who looked out of their house and heard me laughing to myself.

I haven't laughed that hard in a while. Thanks, Tom! Happy

Origin of calling unsolicited email "spam" -- must read!

After my previous post, above, I started wondering how a term for a specific type of luncheon meat ended up becoming the name of this incredibly annoying and irksome problem we have today.

It actually has to do with Monty Python. Here's the link:

I find this absolutely hilarious!

You didn't know that?

I suppose it's because I'm such a big fan of Python, but I remember my dad playing me the skit when I was very young and afterwards instructing me never to eat spam. There's also a type of programing code called "Python Code" that uses some of the lines from the holy grail, like "ni". By the way, Belissa, that's a great story about hearing Tom singing the spam song. Happy I really enjoyed it.

Sorry, your post, specifically the "ni" part, started a whole bunch of Python lines to play automatically in my head. I can't imagine coding something that had something in it that would distract me so much!

And now it's time for the penguin on top of your TV set to explode.
