Toast 7 will do almost everything that Popcorn 2 will do and do it better. Check out the link below...
We'd like to see a slider (in Popcorn 2) to adjust encoding speed vs quality, so we could choose longer encoding times and get the best possible quality. (Toast 7 provides just such an option.)
Pros and Cons
Easy DVD copying
Can select parts of DVD to copy, avoiding excess compression
Powerful video/audio format conversion, including DivX Pro
"Toast Anywhere" CD/DVD Burner sharing over network
Can't decrypt commercial DVDs due to US laws
Confusing, inconsistent interface
No AppleScript or Automator support
Does not include DVD subtitles
I just purchased Toast 7. I would like to occasionally copy my DVD's and slideshows onto other devices. Can I do this with Toast 7, or do I need Popcorn 2? In other words, what functionality does Popcorn have that is so compelling that I should buy it, too?
