Fairly Easy To Copy And Paste

Place the pen drive in a USB port.. If the computer autoruns, simply open the pen drive and leave it open and minimize the screen.. Now open "My Documents" and navigate to the location where your pictures are stored.. Since it's easier to find them later if they are organized in a folder, RIGHT click on a folder which contains your pictures, choose "copy" from the little menu.. Now open the minimized pen drive folder.. RIGHT click on a blank area of the pen drive folder, choose "Paste"..

You can copy pictures over till you run out of space on your pen drive.. If you have lots of large picture files, the pen drive will probably fill up quickly. You may need more than one. In addition, if you intend on saving space on your computer by then deleting the pictures from your hard drive, please recognize that pen drives are not perfect "back up" devices.. They can fail eventually, and as such, it would be a good idea to backup any important pictures to a second location, maybe a DVD/CD, or another flash drive of some type.

Hope this helps.

Transfer to pen drive
Dec 13, 2011 5:26AM PST

As Grif posted, that is one way to do it, another, for lazy guys such as myself, is this: Insert the pen drive in USB port, close any window that comes up, then open MY COMPUTER, your pen drive should show as another drive with a letter designation, E F or some such, depending on system. Look at the letter designation so that you know where to send the item(s). Open the location where the pics or items are, likely MY DOCUMENTS, MY PICTURES. Find the item right click the file, when the window appears, scroll down to SEND TO, your pen drive's letter should appear, simply click on that drive letter designation and the item should go to the pen drive. To send items en masse, left click the mouse drag around and/or up and down, this should HIGHLIGHT the items. Right click any of the highlighted items, scroll down and click send to the letter designation of your drive. The items will be sent to your drive.. But as Grif said flash drives are not typically the best way to store data for long periods but they are great for taking stuff from computer to computer.
