Transfering

I don't know if you recieved any help on this subject but I have a JVC and don't know how to do this either. If you know of any software to facilitate this please point me in the direction. I wish our camcorders were just set up to just do this. I'm not too proficient with these things. I just want it to be easier. Thanks, Rick H.

I just responded to a similar question in the subject "TRANSFERING VIDEO FROM JVC DVL510U to my PC"

The cameras are different, but it doesn't really matter, the theory is all the same. Just make sure you have a firewire card (or most new pc's come with a firewire port already) and plenty of hard drive space!

What software do I need to transfer movies to PC
Apr 30, 2005 4:34AM PDT

I have a JVC GR-DVL300 mini DV (basic model). I have the mini-DV firewire connection, but have not been successful in transferring movies. What software works best for that?
I have ARCsoft Showbiz on my machine, with which I captured the video, but the audio is absent.
I also have JLIP software from JVC, but have given up on getting the software to work (horrible documentation)

Any help would be appreciated.

Raif

Microsoft Movie Maker

If you have XP you should be able to find Microsoft Movie Maker and it is actually quite good for dumping DV to your hard drive. It will split the scenes and you can edit and create movies with it. It will also allow you to add sound tracks, etc.
