Sorry, but your post was accidemtally deleted by a colleague of mine. I can't revive it, so I'm posting a summary and my answer here.

Your question was how to move 600+ contacts from your dad's old Android phone to his new Evolveo Strongphone.

Indeed, the specification on http://www.evolveo.eu/ftp/mobile_phone/strongphone-wifi/datasheet/StrongPhone-WiFi_DataSheet_EN.pdf (worked fine with me, not with my colleague) shows it to be not an Android phone, but having some own OS.

My answer was like this:
If it isn't mentioned in the user manual, I'm afraid it's not possible.
You can try to contact there customer service at http://www.evolveo.eu/en/support. Alas, in a review on amazon (http://www.amazon.co.uk/product-reviews/B00KU4KUPG) I read "I have never experienced worse customer service than I have from this Czech company, so that doesn't look very promising.

Your choices then:
- return the phone and buy another one that's more compatible
- (if not returnable): give it away or sell on eBay and buy another one
- accept the situation and start typing those contacts into the new phone

RE: How to transfer contacts to Evolveo Strongphone WiFi?

Well I figured that there may be someone who had similar problems before, with this type of phone; you never know Grin.

Thanks for the research you did though. I'm thinking that if the phone can run Java apps, there may be a way to do this. Maybe with an app that reads .vcf files or other types of backup files for contacts. Or maybe the phone itself might be able to do this.

It's a bit hard right now to figure it out, as I'm not in the same city as my dad so I don't have access to his phone.

I'll just repost the question if that's alright with you. Maybe someone who has this type of phone might see the title and click it Grin (wishful thinking).

Did you note this requirement "The mobile must implement the optional File connection and PIM APIs (JSR 75). " I didn't read about that in the specification you linked to.

Anyway, my guess is that it's much more work to implement this app than to type a mere 600 contacts. So, best of luck, and please let us know your experiences.

RE: backup

Hi, I successfully used the j2me MobileBackup app to import all contacts! Happy

I first exported the contacts from the Android phone to a vcard file using an app called Contacts Backup & Export. Then I followed the in-app instructions from the j2me MobileBackup on the Evolveo phone and imported everything in a matter of seconds. <div>
</div>I guess they did implement the File connection and PIM APIs, even though they kept their specifications really scarce.
