Good Morning to ye.

Well the kid has the flu. Somehow missed it up till now so between that and all the other things, I also feel asleep.

I see good answers but will tell you where I find my command prompt. I use the command prompt so much in my daily work that I put an icon for it in my quicklaunch area. Since no two machines are alike, when elsewhere I use the two aforementioned methods of either...

1. Start, run, CMD and press enter.
Great since we get a command window and get to see all the words that a command line program may emit.
2. Start, run and type in the command right there.
Great for "Yes, this is what I want it to do and exit."

In closing, the command line is very useful since with just a little skill you can accomplish the same task across most Windows machines and OSes.

An article about the command line which I enjoyed is at http://www.cryptonomicon.com/beginning.html

"I tried your #1 and #2 and receive a black screen on Dos. Please advise"

Since you get the black screen on Dos, this is how the command line works and looks. No fancy buttons to click on the screen.

Wish I could give a lesson about the command line and DOS, but I see you are making progress.
