General discussion

To my political layman's eyes,

Aug 20, 2019 6:27PM PDT

this looks like one of those infamous Broken Campaign Promises.

"Iowa, the nation’s largest producer of corn and ethanol, is a swing state won by Democrat Barack Obama in consecutive elections before Trump rode to victory in 2016 in part by promising to support ethanol."

From a Reuters article on some contemplated action by WH concerning a waiver, to 31 refineries, that is _reducing_ "support [of] ethanol".

As I said, I'm a layman, so there must be some ... spin, is it? ... that would change my perception.

Your system, anyway.

Why folks bought into the conman's spiel is a mystery to me.
Perhaps it was what they wanted to hear or they looked at the option and said yuk.

Another mystery to me is why they continue to listen to his spiel.
It changes hourly.

Well. I'm sure you'll find a politician

Pols got to Washington with lip movement.
The Don is just very good at it.

I have a senator in my state who is up for reelection.
He can forget my vote after he endorsed the AOC GND.
