To many processes Running, how do I make them stop?

by dpacker1 / May 16, 2006 2:04 PM PDT

I think I have to many processes running once my computer starts up (it is running very slow latley). Im using windows xp media center edition, and always have about 55 processes running. How do I know which ones to leave and which ones to get rid of and how do I make it so they dont come back when I start my computer back up, a friend told me to run a registry programe and I have but it does not seem to help much. Thanks for any help.
