HDMI is fully digital, A/V is analog. If you can find a cable/converter, yes.

From the site:

Tip: This is a used for devices that for outputting a HDMI analogue signal so you can use it on a component devices. This is a cable NOT a converter, please be sure you get this point before purchasing, thank you!

This cable is used to convert HDMI to component, Y, pB, pR, for an HD signal, and digital audio. As it says it is not a converter, digital to analog.

Here is a helpful link that explains the different types of cables used to connect TV's and computers as well as how they differ from one cable to another: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/winfamily/mediacenter/getstarted/wmc-on-tv.mspx

Once your computer is connect to your TV, you can either use your TV as an extra monitor for whatever is on your desktop, or depending on your OS and specific hardware, you can use your computer to stream TV shows, record movies to your laptop, and generally view any type of media you want on your TV. Here is some more info on Windows Media Center which you may already have on your computer: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-media-center/default.aspx
