General discussion

To buy or not To buy..

Sep 20, 2010 8:06AM PDT

okay, so here's is my dilemma of sorts.

i have a 3rd gen. ipod touch (no camera)
i'd like to get a 4th gen. (w/ a camera)

but i also need a phone.

in the end, I'd like something that replaces my touch; that being said, i'd like it to: take decent quality video/pictures, games, surfing the net, phone use.)

I live in Canada atm, and I will be moving down to texas for a while..

so my thinking is this:
should i be looking to pick up an unlocked phone while i'm down there? (where it is most likely cheaper)

an iphone4 would be sweet, it has a decent processor, i'd be able to use the facechat feature, and most importantly i can buy one unlocked off their website.

but i'm no lemming, just because its an apple product doesn't mean its the be all end all;

what android phones should i be looking into?

the phones i have a seen a bit on:

iphone4
HTC desire, Hero//

any others i should enquire about?

Don't forget that the iPhone is not sold unlocked in the US and neither Apple or At&t will assist with unlocking the phone.

There are so many great phones right now. Just try a couple in the store and see which feels most comfortable to you. Remember, too, you can get them from classifieds like the penny saver site sometimes for cheaper than the store.
