To all Moderators and other members

by Themisive / January 29, 2009 6:08 AM PST

I know that I have placed quite a few posts on this site, and will continue to do so from time to time. However, now that CNET.co.uk has established it's own forums for the UK; it makes sense that I will do most of my posting there from now on.

I also would like to take this opportunity to thank all - both moderators and other members for all help they have given - usually fairly promptly - though occasionally it can take a few weeks.

Regards

Might see you there.

Hi Themisive. I didn't know you were in the UK. Or, perhaps I did, but forgot due to my age and shrinking brain, Happy

I hadn't realized CNET UK Forums were up and running, so I might see you around there sometimes.

Is the Windows XP forum really US-centric?
by Slikkster / January 29, 2009 10:48 PM PST

I guess it stands to reason that there may, in fact, be more US/North American forum participants here, but XP as an operating system has generally the same issues and fixes no matter where in the world it's installed. I'm sure there are things such as custom fonts, themes, and programs that might come into play, but on the OS level, I'd have to think the user experience is pretty much the same.

I guess I don't see the need to replicate the forum, save for the fact that the UK site might want to generate its own revenue stream. As always, I may be missing the larger picture, lol.

But to your larger point about moderator assisstance, I wholeheartedly agree.
