Tivo with decimal channels

I recently connected my first Digital TV to my broadcast basic cable service (local channels, christian and shopping)and many decimal channels came up in initial set-up. example MSNBC 82.120 Can these shows be recorded (even manually), and if so, how? I haven't bought a device yet, lot of conflicting info from DVR tech and customer support calls.
