Tivo series 2 with a Linksys Wireless G adapter

Mar 19, 2006 8:41AM PST

I get sporadic telephone connections to Tivo, so I bought a Linksys Wirelss G adapter so I can get Tivo downloads via my broadband internet. Tivo and Linksys' instructions are vague. Do I have to connect the G adapter to my Netgear router then to my Tivo? It appears I should just have to connect the G to the Tivo USB port. I am using Windows XP Home. I have a Netgear wireless router and a dell 1300 wireless printer adapter. Tive techs say since my Tivo is new, I haven't had their 7.2 software downloaded from them yet and it will take a few days. In the meantime, I'd like to learn whether I have to do anything more than attach the Wireless G to the Tivo box and wait for the Tivo software to finally download so I can set up the broadband connection. Any help will be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks.
