And I think it's a good thing. Tivo's been touted as the best physical set top box DVR, but I've always hated the pricing model and subscription model.

Apparently, people are settling for media center PC's, cable company DVRs, etc.
Tivos are massively overpriced, and they need to do some radical changing on the price/subscription front for me to ever consider buying one --particularly since there are so many other good alternatives.
One thing I've never quite understood is why these cable company boxes from Scientific Atlanta, et. al., can't come up with a decent UI. I can see nothing overly complicated about the Tivo interface that's been around for years now that couldn't be modeled upon by other manufacturers. But, that's another story.
