If you get a Sony or HP or other brand with Windows XP media edition installed (special version of Windows as opposed to the standard Windows XP) the notebook is set up to act as a DVR (digital video recorder) and supposedly you an even send TIVO over the internet to others in some cases.
These notebooks cost more of course. Toshiba also has a notebook called Qosmio with these features.
Expect to be in the $2000 range and up for these models.
You can also add a TV card and set up many of these features yourself on a more conventional notebook.
are there any tivo options in laptops,,,or maybe docking stations or add-ons to a laptop to make it "tivo".
