Tired of Windows' SLOOOOOOW search feature? (Not just for newbies)

May 27, 2004 1:34AM PDT

The biggest problem with the Windows search feature is that it takes forever. Might I suggest Locate32, available at http://www.uku.fi/~jmhuttun/english/softwares.shtml ?

Based on the Unix/ Linux updatedb and locate routines, it's blazingly fast.

Note: The program is said to work on Win98, Me, 2000, NT4 and XP. I've used it on Win98 and Xp with no issues and perfect stability. The program is freeware, but is billed as alpha (test) software, although as I said, I've not seen any problems.
