does anyone know, when you are connected to a projector and you are projecting your desktop onto the screen...if you can press a function key to make the projection go black but you can still use your computer? and still remain connected to the projector? thanks

Projector controls

You should have received a hand-held controller (similar to a TV controller) for you Projector.
There is very likely a button on there that will blank the screen and still keep the projector running.
Otherwise, just insert a blank SLIDE in your presentation and that will do much the same thing.
