Tip for the Weekend

May 6, 2004 7:35PM PDT

Maintain size of saved Word .Docs
i.e. Cut down on File size

If you go to Tools in Word and then
Options Save Tab
You do not want the fast save ticked as this increases the file .

During Editing it does not delete but saves the edit and doesn?t display the edited part
Therefore the file increases as the edits are done.
Having it ticked can also create corrupted files

Please leave a comment even if this tip is of no Value
Then I know to continue posting Tips
Ta or No thanks will suffice

Lindburgh.....

Please add your Tips to the thread that I started at the link below instead of starting a new thread each time. Each time you add a tip, (or anyone else for that matter) the thread will bump to the top of the forum and it should be easier for users to find. It will be a single thread with all tips.

I will try to keep track of the "Tips" thread and can bump it to the top of the forum when necessary.

Hope this helps.

What a good idea lets start again and just call it
Tips & Shortcuts
Then we can add a tip a day rather than filling with all we have
I have masses collected over the years, but I feel if we put to many on one page people will be dazzeled
What do you think ?

Lindburgh, I've Already Started The Thread

We don't need to keep restarting something new. Just add your tips to the thread that I mentioned earlier,at the link below. I started the thread with quite a few tips simply so it would be worth reading. A tip a day isn't a bad idea from now on, but I don't really want to limit it to that.:

There's really no reason to add "junk" tips, just those that will be important to a large number of users. And as I mentioned in the title text, let's limit the tips and responses so they're "positive" and easy to use.
