Time machine problems

by zacky / September 6, 2011 1:29 AM PDT

My wife and I both are using (or thought we were) Time machine. I had my HD crash and when I went to get my backups they were not there. My wife checked her TM and it stopped backing up 3 weeks ago even though she has changed many files. What is the problem?

a change in the menu bar icon perhaps?

Is the drive you back up to, still functional?

Is it always connected and powered on/

I received a message box saying it could not complete the backup. Error creating the backup folder. Always connected, always on.

New drive

The external drive (LaCie) I'm using is brand new. Apple said it may be the drive, but it seems to be working with Carbon, copy cloner. I hooked up an older WD to TM and so far it is working. It's getting frustrating.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
