Time lapse camera running for 75 hours?

May 26, 2005 10:37AM PDT

I'm going to be in charge of a behind the scenes video for an event my company is putting on this july. I want to include some time lapse video. I understand that there are some cameras that can do that, but my problem is that the event is going to be 75 hours from set up to tear down. Is there a camera that can store it's photos on an external hard drive or something?

If my math is correct I'll need 4500 pictures at one per minute. The resolution can be low because the video will be deployed on the web, but that still seems like a lot of storage for a little camera.

Any ideas?

I installed a wireless IP camera and then captured it on a laptop a hundred feet away.

Olympus has quite a few digital cameras that can be controlled by a computer.

Here is software that can be used to control Olympus cameras from a computer:

Running a camera for 75 hours is a problem because the camera batteries will not last that long.

The camera would need a remote power supply to power the camera for that length of time.

the CC looks great

Thanks for the link, the CC looks like what I'm looking for, now to find a camera.

My next concern is that it looks like I'll have a computer box and camera set up somewhere shooting away. I'll have to find a way to secure it from sticky fingers, but I'll take that up with the project manager.

Thanks again.

I didn't see a solution there.
