tightvnc need help

just installed tightvnc, and i can connect to my server computer and see deskttop, but can't control it. running windows xp, any suggestions?

Connection options

Which viewer are you using? Not the Listen Mode one is it?

Under connection options on viewer, make sure there is no check mark in View only (inputs ignored)

In the Server properties make sure there is no check mark in Disable remote keyboard and pointer.

Are these computers on you LAN, or what? Describe the set-up. please.

Exactly what happens. You say you can log in and it pulls up the other computer's desktop. Then what? You mouse around but nothing you click on does anything, or the mouse doesn't move, or what?

yes computers are on LAN with DSL. yes, can connect to server and see desktop, can move mouse around but cannot control desktop at all. all settings look right. as i said i am using tight vnc, should i try a different version of vnc? thanks
