I recently read your post and almost went to Tiger Direct tonite as I am having the very same problem with Dell. Ordered and paid for stuff that never showed up. I am closing my Dell account tomorrow. I am grateful for your post, it totally saved me from another headache. I have learned my lesson. I am going with local suppliers from now on, as at least when I am unhappy and can holler at them, they speak the same language I do. If your thinking about Dell, forget it they are no better. I will try NewEgg tomorrow after I kill my Dell account.
Also ran into problem with Geeksquad, they wanted me to buy an HDMI cable for $59.99 and then I read a CNET article on what really goes on with the cables, followed their advice, and for ten bucks at a PC wholesale store got the same quality of cable connection. Goes to prove I need to do my homework way before I buy anything.
The computer sector biggies are ripe for loss of market share big time. Unless they become way more oriented toward quality customer friendly services. I do not recommend UPS either unless you want your stuff "lost".
Make sure you know how and who delivery method they may be using. I am still waiting for my Dell parts eight days later and no end in sight
But they sure took my money fast enough!
Twice now I had a defective product from them. But that is not my issue. My issue is they don't care if you get a replacement or not. I did not get a replacement for either item so I am done with them for good.
As long as you don't have a problem they are fine. But if you get the wrong item or a defective item, GOOD LUCK.
Now I had a hard drive that I bought from Newegg go bad after a month and they gave a higher end drive at no extra charge and sent a return label for the bad one so I did not have to pay shipping.
Stick with Newegg. They care about their customers.
