Tibo without subscription

Hey

I want to buy a new tivo machine but I don't want to pay the monthly fee. Will the Tivo box still work? What features will I loose?

If someone could tell me the cons of not paying the subscription fee, that would be great!

Thanks

If you don't pay:

Cons
It won't work
Pros
none

You have to pay for tivo. You can do the same thing as tivo using a computer and a few parts. If you have one sitting around look into that! It would cost about the same(if you have a computer already) just a few parts, a free program and your good to go.

Yes. Will it have the guide programming? No. Recording will be completely manual.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
