Question

Thunderbolt screen with Retina Screen when?

Mar 26, 2016 2:57AM PDT

Hello, in 2011 (?) Apple produced the beautiful I-Mac 27 inch retina screen. However until now the Thunderbolt screen (27 inch of course) still only has the 2550x 1440 pixel screen. I have been waiting for this to be produced now for over one year to be upgraded to the retina screen as well with the fantastic resolution. (Linking my brand new MacBook Pro for my photography). Is this a marketing ploy for the desperate impatient buyer to finally give in and buy the actual I-Mac 27 inch or does anyone have any thoughts of 'when-oh-when'? Thanks Hans.

your guess is as good as anyone else's.

Of course, a 27" iMac, with the Retina screen is going to be much cheaper than a stand alone 27" Apple Monitor with Retina

Thunderbolt screen 27 inch......
Mar 27, 2016 12:53PM PDT

The Thunderbolt screen is 'only £899', where a 27 inch I-Mac on basic spec with 1TB of flash drive is little change out of £3000...... Sad(
Having already spent £3000 on a MacBook Pro retira (15 inch with max spec) I am hesitant to spend the same just to get the 27 inch retina screen.....

You don't think that the 4K or 5K version

of that 27" monitor is going to be less than 1K?

It's a rhetorical question
