Wow, they sure have hosed up this part of Thunderbird. I changed my password in Yahoo, but I know I'm typing in the current one, but Thunderbird gives me the same message.
It's frustrating me.
Eric
I'm a Yahoo user, and everything has been going fine with Thunderbird fetching mail from my account. Until now. It forgot my password, and made me enter it again. Fine, I entered it. I KNOW it is correct. But Thunderbird said, "Sending of password did not succeed. Mail server pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk responded: Error logging in, please visit http://mail.yahoo.com" I tried entering my password several times. Still the same. I searched the Thunderbird KB in MozillaZINE, I found an entry: "Thunderbird forgets my password." It just said something about doing it again and again, and it wasn't much help. I was so desperate I even changed themes to see if it would work. I am using MS Windows XP with no SP, avast! AV Pro, ZA Firewall, WinPatrol. None of those interfered with Thunderbird before. I tried rebooting, too. And I even tried deleting my account and setting it up again. No success. I even reinstalled Thunderbird. I am using the latest version (1.0.2). But I can sign in on Y! Mail using a browser. And it was also by coincidence that I created a new account in Yahoo! Mail. Would that affect Thunderbird? Please help me here, I don't want to change mail clients because Thunderbird is the easiest to setup; and its junk mail filter rocks. PLEASE HELP ME! This has been going the whole day. I'm sorry if this is so long, I just wanted to make sure it was clear for all the people who were kind enough to help me! ![]()
