Thunderbird on gmail

by Amos16 / May 7, 2007 1:31 AM PDT

Hello - I have been accessing my mail on T-bird through a gmail address. Now each time I get new mail it appears on both browsers. I read and enter the mail on T-bird, but have to delete or archive it on each of them separately. Is there a way to avoid this, that is getting notified that there is new mail but having to read and delete it only once? Tx - Amos

an email program, similar to Outlook Express.

To set up Mozilla Thunderbird to Gmail, instructions below

Now each time I get new mail it appears on both browsers

What do you mean by both browsers?

You can fix your gmail settings as follows,

Open gmail on web browser
https://www.google.com/accounts/ServiceLogin?service=mail&passive=true&rm=false&continue=http%3A%2F%2Fmail.google.com%2Fmail%2F%3Fui%3Dhtml%26zy%3Dl&ltmpl=default&ltmplcache=2

click on settings

click on Forwarding and POP

under #2 use the drop down menu to the setting you want. Mine is set to delete Gmail's copy.

Hope this helps.

I sent two email to you. One to Yahoo and the other to gmail. I sent a picture of what the settings should look like.

The Samsung RF23M8090SG

One of the best French door fridges we've tested

A good-looking fridge with useful features like an auto-filling water pitcher and a temperature-adjustable "FlexZone" drawer. It was a near-flawless performer in our cooling tests.
