Question

Thunderbird: Marking a mail as Junk

Sep 15, 2015 10:58AM PDT
https://helpdesk.illinoisstate.edu/kb/1175/Using_junk_mail_controls_in_Thunderbird_to_filter_spam_email/ says:

------------------------

To mark the message as junk [in Thunderbird], do one of the following:

Click the dot to the left of the Date column.
Right-click on the message and choose Mark > As Junk.
Select the message, and click the Junk button in the message pane.

-----------------------

Regarding the above first option, I do not see the dot to the left of the Date column in my Inbox mail list.

Have recent versions of Thunderbird eliminated that option?

Thanks.

I was able to obtain the dot to the left of the Date column, but a new problem has arisen!

When I right click on the dot for a particular email and then select "Mark As Junk" from the pop down menu, the dot is not getting replaced by a flame icon as the following statement in that web site had said:

-------------------------------------

"The dot to the left of the date is replaced with a flame icon, which means the message is flagged as junk."
