Question

Thumbnails being deleted in Windows 10

May 27, 2019 11:50AM PDT

Hi folks! I'm hoping you can help with a weird problem. I have a lot of photos, graphics, and documents on my machine that need thumbnails, but Windows keeps deleting them. Sometimes it's after a day or two, sometimes it's right after reboot.

I've tried increasing the size of the thumbnail cache and also have turned off the automatic maintenance feature in the registry that periodically deletes thumbnails. I also tried completely reinstalling Windows from scratch. Nothing seems to make a difference. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Maybe your system settings are configured to give the best performance instead of best appearance , to fix this :-

1. Go to the pc icon and in the right click menu go to properties .
2. Then in the left panel you'll see advanced system settings.
3. when the system properties window opens go to advanced tab.
4. Open settings of the performance menu and make sure you have selected the "Adjust for best appearance " instead of "performance".

Hope you get your solution if this was the issue !!
