We have here an almost complete replay of VietNam, including all those who claim that pointing out the futility of the exercise makes on "less of an American." How truly sad. One difference -- it took almost a decade for VietNam to have inflationary effects and nearly destroy the currency (Gold to 800-something, ultimately); the economic chickens are coming home to roost much more quickly this time, probably because of thecompetition for scarce resources from India, China, and to a lesser extent Brazil.
