Those little icons in IE 6 and 7beta Favorites

Oct 13, 2006 12:23PM PDT

I love those little icons that appear in my favorites next to the bookmark, but they keep disappearing!

I guess its got something to do with cookies. I've tried adjusting the secuirty level and auto cache clearing on my firewall (zone alarm security suite) and in IE but they keep going.

Anyone know what I need to do to keep them?

Look up FAVORG to see how to fix this.

Favicons

It has nothing to do with cookies... it isn't even directly related with the temporary files, as stated in the Favorg site. It's purely an erratic quirk in IE that Microsoft apparently doesn't think important enough to fix. (Firefox has managed favicons wonderfully from at least three years ago.)

It has amazed me that no matter how far IE comes along, it still cannot do favicons right, even with people giving relevant input to Microsoft during the IE7 Beta evaluations.

Oh, well, I didn't mean to rant (though I hope that someone from IE might read this and do something about it). I am glad to know that something like Favorg is now available, and hope it works for you. I may even test it myself.
