If it had been $1 million each, what would you have said?

KP, the jury was clearly trying to send a message w/o bankrupting the county. I'd have thought a thousand or two more appropriate, as there was obviously some pain and suffering involved.

This the story I would tell??

This is a story about a man named k
A poor crazy Texan, barely kept his family fed,
Then one day he was hugging around some trees,
And up out of the patrol car came a pepper spraying copper.

cayenne that is, Louisiana red, New Orleans hot

Well the first thing you know ol' K?s a millionaire,
Kinfolk said K? move away from there
Said Californy is the place you ought to be
So they loaded up the BIG Hummer and moved to Beverly.

Hills, that is.
Swimmin pools, movie stars, Nancy Pelosi

So then I moved back...
as quickly as I could.

$1.00 fine and a gift of a carton of cigarettes to a prison chaser "guilty" of killing an escaped prisoner.

It signifies that they did the act but the consequences of not doing it or using some other method most likely would have been worse and resulted in something really bad.
