This sony vaio reboots it self

Oct 23, 2004 12:19AM PDT

Hi, I bought this sony vaio 8 months ago and never worked properly. It's always rebooting it self for no aparent reason. I thought it could be the cooler system as I read some cases in this forum, but I tried taking the cover off but it's still doing the same thing. Thank you for helping, Lucas.

This sony PCV-RZ14G reboots all the time for no reason. At one point I'd let it on and it would reboot it self every 5 minutes or something that would detonate the reboot for sure was if you connect or disconnect any peripherial like mouse, keyboard any USB device, etc. So I tried the following:
1- I put the System Recovery cds and go back to the factory defoult setup. It became more stable but still would reboot for no aparent reason.
2-I did some reserch in forums and I found some people having similar problems and their solutions were in the cooling system. So what I did was take the cover off , check the coolers(they were working) I put some extra fan and air conditioning. It became more stable but still would reboot for no aparent reason.
3-I connected to internet and updated all drivers, I installed all the Windows updates and Windows Service Pack 2 at last. This was the piont where the PC was more stable, it would stay on longer than before but still reboots it self. Now it could be any time when I'm not working with it or right after a mouse click (it could be anything from Start menu or Windows Explorer or Windos Media Player anything. There is no parameter for this mouse click) or sometimes when I plug or unplug any peripheric device (not all the time thogh I do this thogh)

I never touch anything inside the CPU I only took the cover off, I never installed hardware like memory, video card or sound card. I really need help on this, I'm whilling to try anything! I'd do anything to solve this problem.
Thanks, Lucas
