I've deleted all Ahead and Nero entries on Windows 2000 SP4, XP SP2 without ill effect (save destroying Nero being able to run.) But after delete those registry keys and the Ahead and Nero files, directories it did install and work fine.
REMEMBER that you may have an OEM version so it's proper for it to complain about the old drive or ignore that drive.

Hi,
When I first got my computer I got Nero with it, that's what the disk says, just Nero. Recently I purchased a new DVD rewriter and with it came Nero 7. I installed it but didn't like it, can't remember why but I didn't so I uninstalled it. Now when I try to open certain files I get the error message (see link below.)

I definitely uninstalled Nero 7 the correct but I may have inadvertently removed some files related to the regular Nero I have and that's what may be causing the problem, (I think.)
I've used a registry cleaner and deleted a whole load of stuff related to Nero and I've carried out a search of my system and deleted a few files related to Nero, I'm still getting the error message.
I've looked at the registry and under HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT/SOFTWARE and HKEY_CURRENT_USER/SOFTWARE, there's heaps of references related to Nero which weren't removed when I uninstalled Nero 7 and were missed with the registry cleaner. Is it safe to remove these myself in the hope it will stop the error message? Failing that has anyone any ideas as to what action I should take. If I forget about it and have my sound up high, the noise the error message makes when it appears scares the hell out of me. ![]()
I no longer need Nero on my system but I am willing to reinstall these programs and remove again if I need to.
Kind regards, Kiai ![]()
