Like Jonah posted, that was Charlie Brown. I remember that one well from waaaay back. Long before I could read, I could recognize that old "Charlie Brown" 45 with a label colored yellow that my sister had and would pick it out for her to play.

In reply to: Re: This one is not too easy.

Should be easy for you....Happy

One of the most famous rock songs of all time was recorded in '61.There isn't a person on this forum that hasn't heard it.

The Margo brothers were a big part of the group. In fact,14yr old Mitch Margo sang lead on all their songs and his version of the song is the definitive one!

Song and group name??

Actually you stumped me with that one!

In reply to: Not bad Josh, all were right..I got my own though....

I know the song (of course!) and I know who the Tokens are, but I didn't know their names.

You ought to check out the summer concert schedule at Brookdale Park in Montclair. Not so great this year but in the past I've seen Johnny Maestro and the original Capris there among others.

Hi, Josh.

Beat me by one -- I didn't remember the Big Bopper's real name. And sadly, he's probably the least remembered of those killed on "the day the music died."
