and it has nothing to do with being another search engine. This one can actually warn you ahead of time if the web site you're visiting is not what it seems.

When you visit a known fraudulent site, it alerts you with a pop-up and it also flags sites with questionable features, such as status-bar misdirection. For every site you visit, it displays the country of origin and creation date; hovering the mouse over this information displays full Whois data in a pop-up window.

Shareware price is reasonable at $19.99 at http://www.fraudeliminator.com

More info....Could be a free version

with a Pro upgrade available at the shareware price...

They indicate it is free, so download to 'save' instead of 'Open' or 'Run' and run a virus check on it - A-OK, then install to Firefox or IE browser. No problems at all, installed fine. There is a pop up that lets you know about buying the "Pro" version, but so far the free looks mighty good.

I just downloaded and installed the free version of Fraudeliminator. I told it to install in Mozilla/Firefox.
After this, I could not open Firefox! Oh well, I removed
Firefox 1.0.3 and installed Firefox 1.0.4, so it was not a complete loss!
