With the number of guns in that country, I'm surprised that these people aren't blown away as soon as they show up. Maybe if that happened enough, the "terrorists" would become afraid.
Rule of law obviously doesn't mean anything to these people.

Unfortunately, perhaps the only way this will end is to let all the radicals kill each other off, then let those that want to live in peace return. Unrealistic, I know, and of course it will be *our* fault.
but it might be dangerous to express the opinion, understandably.
I think they would like to have the rule of law, but it depends on who the law is a and whether it can be trusted.
I think there's progress. The ordinary everyday interactions that are not violent of course get no coverage.
keep it. If Iraqis are not willing to step up and pay that price, their future is bleak indeed.
One of my concerns is that Americans seem to have forgotten, or perhaps never learned, that. They seem to think, if the polls are correct, that any price for freedom is too high. As soon as it begins costing us, we want to leave the situation rather than paying the price. That does not bode well for our own freedom.
These peopel ahve lived their lifetimes knowing that if they stood up to authority that the authority would then come hunt them and averyone they cared about down.
Unfortunately, this is the result of Saddam's reign... a people so worn down that they have trouble realizing that they have the power to get rid of these idiots.
