Looks like after all the controversy more people would be interested in using it!
Not sure, But I don't think my 20 year old RCA would even take a v-chip! If that is where they go! LOL I just know I don't have one!

I think our new TV has one, but it wouldn't have helped for J Jackson.

I know you know that. We're already selective in what we watch. Happy

If they won't take the most rudimentary involvment in their viewing, why should we empower the FCC even further?

Huh? Who sets the ratings on the programs?
Feb 17, 2004 4:44AM PST

Sorry, but I'll make my own decisions, and one of those is to lobby the FCC for more enforcement. I don't want the airwaves poluted, and then someone waves a silly device like the v chip at the problem.

So you get to make your own decisions but I don't? Maybe I do want what you consider "pollution." Why should I not be able to get it just because you don't like it?

Why should I have to put up with it just because you want it?
Feb 17, 2004 5:03AM PST

If you want it, buy it! Don't put it on the public spectrum. It belongs to me as much as it belongs to you, and we generally try to avoid polluting things these days. If I opened a dump next to your house, would you be willing to close your windows and doors to keep out the smell? No, you'ld complain that I'm polluting your air even though it's no more yours than it is mine.

And once again we come around to Dan's thread in which he asked people to define "indecent," or in this case, "pollution."

Am I a degenerate or are you a prude? Who gets to decide?

glorify Him, as we should, we should have no problem. His word, as I understand it, says to avoid even the appearance of evil. It also says to find those things which are 'excellent' and dwell on them. It also says to seek peace with one another, and to seek the other's good before our own. If we both do those things, we'll probably be able to agree.

...I just turned off my televison after checking out about 15 channels and not finding a thing worth watching, following the NCIS show. Gilmore girls might have been OK, but doesn't appeal to me. There was some other show that looked promising (24?) till I realized it had a gay theme to it, which trash I always turn off. There's always the internet, so far...

"24" has a gay theme? You can't mean the "24" with Keifer Sutherland. There's no gay theme to that show at all. Maybe you didn't give it enough of a chance, though you might not care for the violence.

There was some character I took to be a lawyer who was meeting a man at a hotel who gave him "the look". Next scene was him lying to someone over why his face was beatup, talking about his wife and so forth. I decided I didn't care to see it, figured it would just get worse and turned it off. The other day I had to turn off that new show Joan, the girl that talks to God after getting disgusted over their gay segment in the show. Lately more of that type trash is appearing in shows you least expect, and too often portrayed in a favorable manner, while trying to say everyone that objects is a bigot. I just turn such trash off. They can waste their disgusting "message" on the mush for brains type.

Turns out there's some gay publication by that name too. I wonder if that had anything to do with the name of the show? Below is some information about the episode I realized was getting trashy and nuked on my TV.

Jake, who gets attacked by some gay guy he does a pick up on.

Here is a synopsis from;

Without Consent (Air Date: 2004-02-17)
A late night encounter at a seedy motel exposes Jake?s lifestyle to his firm and his family.

Looks like some self serving gay guy is trying to trash another show I like watching. Hope I get enough warning to avoid that episode.

I bet Sodom and Gomorrah were impressed.
Feb 19, 2004 3:25AM PST

At least in the short term, since they didn't have too long to appreciate the impact of God's visitation. Dothan and his group in the Sinai desert probably were dutifully impressed, albeit probably more in a terrified manner as they disappeared into the ground, buried alive. After making fun of the Hebrews marching around Jericho's walls, probably with a lot of hoots and cat calls and such like, the citizens were quite impressed no doubt when their massive, impregnable walls started collapsing. Are you looking for something like that to impress you?

No big deal if you are right DanHappy But what happens if I am right? With your idea of God, He has NO power and is not omnipotent! So Heaven and Hell don't exist as he say's! I suffer nothing I just cease to exist! But if I am right and God is all powerful then you suffer for eternitySad I sincerely hope that you don't suffer that fate.
