This, is how BB (Blackberry) can sustain

Mar 9, 2016 12:42PM PST

When precious traditional swatch watches were threatened by the storm of cheap digital watches, it recovered with the help of cheaper-still-good-looking watches that, at least I, recognize swatch with today.

It's not really the same story with BB, but the incident at least points towards the possibility of a comeback: Affordable, functional BB handsets can save it. How to get there ?

I love my BB 9105 pearl 3G. I can't even use the awesome media keys on the top because I had to use superglue to keep it from falling. I stick to it because it does everything that I need it to do. It's a physical keyboard smartphone with a size which was normal for a phone in the good old days. I do not think I am insane, and I think there must be a lot of people who would like it if they tried it.

BB must come up with something like a 200 euro or less blackberry pearl revival--faster, slimmer, metal chassis and physical keyboard phone with BBOS.

I almost forgot about that company. I think they are making the right moves in their efforts in wresting Ford away from Microsoft.

Not gonna happen

The others are already doing it better and have ample market share to sustain with preferable ecosystems. BB is toast.

Optimist

You are surely an optimist and maybe with an aversion to change. Blackberry has missed several times and the Priv may be the first step in years in the right direction. It may still be too late. Apple and android have the bulk of the market. Windows stays afloat by selling cheap phones. BB is circling the drain.
I applaud your loyalty. For your sake, I hope I'm wrong. BB fans are loyal and true. It's too bad BB didn't appeal to the masses and the fans both so their bottom line would support the phones you love.

BTW, even the oldest phones have a stock of new, sealed in the box somewhere. Check Amazon and eBay and stash a couple of your favorite away. Good luck.
