This is a very bad move, IMO

George Zimmerman to auction off his gun

The article says it's to raise funds to defeat Hillary Clinton and other causes. While I do not feel Zimmerman was guilty of murder, he was no hero and his gun is no trophy piece. I could think that any person who takes ownership of this gun for more than par value due to its history my find himself to be the bullseye of someone else with a weapon.

I didn't bother to read your link

after I saw the actual headline they decided to use so I knew it would already be biased.

They could have easily said "Zimmerman auctions off gun he used to defend himself" but chose to show their slant instead.

RE:I knew it would already be biased.

I hear ya'...that 'biased site" is the site Zimmerman was selling it on.

RE: I saw the actual headline they decided

You "saw it" but you didn't "read it"

Auction site wants ‘no part’ in sale of gun Zimmerman used to kill Trayvon Martin

You think a site named "Gunbroker" is "biased"?

You got guns?...We sell guns!!!...Come on down to GUNBROKER!!!! YEE HAW!!!!

I've also wondered about the 'sickness' of

people wanting gruesome trophies.......like where is JFK's brain?

I'd feel the same about the gun

that killed Bin Laden though the soldier who used it was heroic for taking on that job. The Zimmerman/Martin fiasco was more a matter of bad timing and bad judgment on the parts of two people. That it resulted in riots and looting isn't a piece of history one should celebrate and turn its artifacts into cash for political purposes. I could see this move resulting in more unrest. Better he should have it melted down if he no longer wants it and let its destruction be known publicly but even that might stir up more trouble.
