yah, they last awhile and are elegant for an oem pc

still have a sony vaio p4 1.8ghz with 256mb of ram and a fx5200. also, as a family pc, a sony vaio p4 2.8ghz radeon 9200 and a 90gb hdd. yes, they are good pcs and are EXTREMELY quiet. but their online support sucks.

(NT) (NT) Are they easy to upgrade?

i would say yes

added a fx5200 up from generic video card in the 1.8ghz one.

replaced hard drive in the 1.8ghz one to 80gb

replaced 2x dvd burner with a dual layer 12x in the 2.8ghz one

doubled ram in the 2.8ghz one to 1gb

failed ram upgrade in 1.8ghz one, worked for awhile but then wouldnt boot the os, thought was a hdd problem hence y i replaced hdd but was the ram

obviously sony makes semi expensive pcs, but they are hardy, quiet, upgradeable, and last a long time.
