That's a present from Eir; I wouldn't call it 'compromised'. Didn't they tell when you subscribed or didn't you read their terms of sale?
However, https://www.eirmobile.ie/opencms/export/sites/default/.content/pdf/terms/eir_wifi_terms_and_conditions.pdf tells you can opt-out if you don't like it.
Hi, I hope someone smarter than I can help. I have a Eir (Irish telephone network) branded Huawei HG659b router. Last night i was having trouble and used a WiFi analyzer app to see if i was getting interference from somewhere else and discovered a network called eir_WIFI on the same channel so i changed channel on my router and low and behold the other network changed to the same channel. I switched off my router and it also disappeared. Its clearly coming from my router, which is 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz. The third network is transmitting on the 2.4Ghz range and its mac address is only one digit away from my routers 2.4 card. No mention of eir_WIFI in any of the router settings. Im worried that the router has been compromised in some way?
