While a gamer would quibble over the video card, even an onboard video system will not hurt a video edit session. You may find newbies to video editing get some 1 to 2 GB video card but it's overkill with not much payback.
I am looking at what looks to be very inexpensive Gateway (DX4850-57). It shows up with 8GB RAM, core i7-2600, 1.5 TB. When I price compare with other vendors, the other vendor price is coming out much higher, in the hundreds of $$. I wonder what Gateway leaves out of their machines to get them so cheap? Would I be better off buying from another vendor with maybe older chip, less memory?
My main purpose is to edit family videos.
Thanks for any thoughts or experiences.
