Thinking ALIENWARE? Do Your Research ...

Mar 6, 2005 2:11AM PST

ALIENWARE CUSTOMER SERVICE WARNING: I ordered an
Alienware Area 51m 7700 with 2, 1GB mem sticks and
received 4, 512MB mem sticks. Alienware did not even
advise me of the switch, nor did they refund my money.
I am in a state of limbo with them as they will not
answer my emails. Last thing they told me was that I
was on a waiting list for the memory. I have not heard
anything else from them. I ask for updates, but I get
no reply. Buyer beware ... their customer service
might be award winning, but it sucks for the average
customer. I dropped $4,000+ on this system, and they
treat me like a stranger. So, do what you want with
this info ... I'm putting it out there. BTW, the
machine kicks-***, but you can get a kick-*** machine
anywhere.

Did you post this at notebookforums.com?

I suggest you post this there as well.

People seem to think that sharing your experience is: soapboxing there - I will be interested in your reception. Let me know if you post it there and what forum.

I like yours because you just state what happened without raving... good job.

It's interesting how sharing a bad experience is somehow "critical" to some people - especially when a person goes to lengths to keep it impersonal.

Anyway, just a thought.

I think people get testy in these kinds of threads because they have some sense of ownership. You have a person that lays down over $3000 on a notebook and he feels that he's bought into the company and doesn't like to see it attacked. The same thing happens in all types of forums, TV, Movie, computers, if you don't like what the company does, don't by the product type of stuff.
